Handy Cheats for Building Empty Handy Cheats for Building

Here is a list of all the handy cheats (and their descriptions) one can use while in build mode. I have not tested all of these out. So if any of them are bad or do not work please send me a personal message so i can remove them immediately.

*Note: Some may cause lagging or slowness in game play. I am not responsible for this. That is all.

First while in build/buy mode hit ctrl shift c (all 3 keys at one time). A blue bar will pop up at the top of your screen. Type these cheats exactly how they look below followed by the enter key. Some will need to be turned "on" and "off" (or "true"/"false") in order to activate/deactivate them. To turn them "on/off/true/false" one must enter one of those words after the cheat code.
*Note: In Windows Vista you may need to press ctrl Windows Shift C to display the console window.
For example:
constrainfloorelevation false this cheat is now active. When true is used (instead of false) the cheat code is no longer active and will not do as it does when it is active (if that makes sense).

CHEATS:

help
-
Lists all commands available at the moment

TestingCheatsEnabled -
Enables cheat functionality

buydebug [on/off] - in buy mode brings up a new category with a ?. Click on ? and you will have tomb items/gems and metals/fish/insects/gardenable plants/other random objects your unable to buy in regular buy mode. Note: Some of the random objects and harvestable plants will cost money.

moveObjects [on/off] -
Removes footprint limitation for all object placement in Buy Mode
and Build Mode. Removes limitations placed on hand tool for when objects
are in use, or are normally non-movable objects. In other words you can put things just about anywhere. As a warning, do not put them on the edge of your lot. They will get stuck and you will lose the ability to grab/delete them.

Delete object - Delete any object

constrainFloorElevation [true/false] -
Allows all terrain adjustments regardless of objects, Sims, and
other structures on them. Walls, floors, and objects will move with the
terrain, allowing you to create sloped walls and floored hills. However,
placing new walls/floors will still flatten terrain, and placing
objects will still require the terrain to be flat initially if the
objects normally require it. You can basically bring terrain up and over objects to create a sense of something buried. You can also use this for creating short walls that are at the same level as the foundation, and for making curves in certain things like roofs or bridges. Make sure to turn this cheat off (contrainfloorelevation true) when you are finished because you can make some serious errors in building if you do not.

snapObjectsToGrid [true/false] -
Toggles how objects snap to the grid. If true is given, behavior is
normal. If false is given, then by default, objects do not snap to the
grid (and holding “Alt” will snap them to the grid).

snapObjectsToAngle [true/false] -
Toggles how objects rotate. If true is given, behavior is normal. If
false is given, then by default, objects do not snap to 45 degree
angles when rotating them (and holding “Alt” will snap them to the 45
degree angles)..

disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on/off] -
When on, objects will not snap to slots while holding “Alt”.

Buy/Build on Already Functioning Community Lots

Normally you are not able to but/build on community lots, but there
is a way around that. Press Ctrl-Alt C and enter testingcheatsenabled
true, right-click on the floor and you have the option to Buy/Build on
this lot, along with teleportation. You can redecorate or demolish that
lot. Using this cheat with The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack,
you can see hidden traps and chambers and even enter them by deleting
the walls or sealed doors without going through lengthy missions!

*Note: As a noncheat related note - REMEMBER to place your basement stairs BEFORE you build your foundation. You cannot do it after, not even with cheats.
