How Do I Post a Screenshot Using Photobucket?

Sims 3 Official Site Version:

FAQ

This FAQ is a work in progress created by Gouka. Please contact Gouka if you have any questions.

How Do I Take a Screenshot in The Sims 3?

To take a screenshot in game, press C or click on the camera icon. In Create-a-Sim, you will have to press C as the camera icon is unavailable. To obtain a bit more freedom in moving the camera and seeing your picture, press Tab before lining up your shot. This removes your interface and allows you to use the w, a, s & d keys as well as q & e to move the camera. Press Tab again to return to the normal view.

Where Are My Screenshots Saved?

Screenshots are saved in the folder Screenshots within The Sims 3 folder within Electronic Arts in your documents folder. The exact location will vary depending upon your operating system. On Windows 7, the location may be found by opening Windows Explorer and selecting Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Screenshots. I recommend never modifying your original screenshot. If you have to make any changes to it, save it in a new location. This is just a suggestion for those who, like me, are afraid of losing that perfect shot!

How Do I Post a Screenshot Using the Sims 3 site?

Minimize (or close) your Sims 3 game, saving if you need to. Open your Sims 3 Launcher. Select Uploads and go to the screenshots tab. Locate and check the picture you want to use and click Upload. The pictures will receive a green arrow icon once it's uploaded. Once complete, go to your Studio on the Sims 3 official site. Click on the Media tab. You should see your screenshot at the top of the list. If it isn't there, click on Date to sort them by the uploaded date and then locate it. Click on the screenshot to open it in a pop up window. Right-click on the image and select Copy Image Location (or the similar command for your browser). You've just copied the URL for your image. Switch to the post you are creating and paste the URL where you would like the picture to display. Highlight the entire URL and click the IMG button above the post text box. IMG tags will be inserted around your URL. It should look something like:

Code:
[IMG]http://llnw.thesims3.com/sims3_asset/sims3_asset/media/shard000//shard000/840/520/008/00/screenshot_original.jpg[/IMG]

How Do I Post a Screenshot Using Photobucket?

If you don't already have a Photobucket account, you can register one for free. Go to http://photobucket.com, make sure you're logged in, and click on the Upload Now button at the top of the screen. Select to which album you want to upload the screenshot. Click on the big Select Photos and Videos button. Choose your screenshot and click Open. Your screenshot will upload. When the upload has finished, select Save and Continue to My Album. Locate the thumbnail of your uploaded picture. Mouse over it (don't click anything yet!) and you'll see several options on a pop-up box. Locate the line for IMG Code and click in the field next to it that contains the picture code. The code has been automatically copied to your clipboard. When creating your post on The Sims 3 forum, paste this code into your post. It should look something like:

Code:
[IMG]http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n155/Traanse/The%20Sims/Screenshot-346.jpg[/IMG]
